I'm sure it's worth it seeing all the work the guy must have put into it (saving me at least a day of work), but then there is so many completely free options as well.Īnd I wonder if TrueSTUDIO will be free (or at least affordable) now that Atollic was acquired by ST last month.

Installing the VS extension it does a lot of things for you automatically like downloading their prebuilt GCC ARM toolchain, and even installed a Windows driver (after asking first) for the ST-Link v2 clone I have. Amazing, it's pretty much a one click solution if one knows even the slightest of what their doing. Now the first setup I tried was VisualGDB. I'm not adverse to using Linux but I am more of a Windows user so that would probably be a better OS environment for me. I've spent days now looking at the various options. The problem I hit now is WTF there is almost too many IDE and toolchain options to proverbialy "shake a stick at".

The different ew_bsp_xxx files implement the bridge between the Embedded Wizard UI application and the underlying board support package (STM32 hardware drivers) in order to access the display, the graphics accelerator, the serial interface and the clock.Off of doing some Arduino Pro Micro, then a Raspberry PI project, I thought I'd use a a "Blue Pill" STM32F103C8 because they are a so damn amazing bang for the buck (two bucks/$2 USD to be more exact) microcontroller.
\TargetSpecific - This folder contains all configuration files and platform specific source codes.\PlatformPackage - This folder contains the necessary source codes and/or libraries of the STM32 Platform Package: Several Graphics Engines for the different color formats (RGBA8888, RGB888, RGBA4444, RGB565, Index8 and LumA44) and the Runtime Environment (in the subdirectory \RTE).The implementation shows the usage of the class Charts::Graph to paint a list of coordinates. \WaveformGenerator - This WaveformGenerator demo application combines waveforms with different amplitudes and frequencies. The speciality of this sample application is the magnification effect of the centered list items and the soft fade-in/fade-out effects. \WashingMachine - This demo shows the implementation of a washing machine with a couple of fancy scrollable list widgets to choose the washing program and parameters. The application contains many rect effects and fade-in/fade-out effects to change dynamically the layout of the screen. \PaperCutter - This demo shows the implementation of a paper cutting machine, where the user can define the pagination and format of the paper as well as the cutting speed and the amount of papers. The user can define a heating time, a nominal temperature and humidity, a dwell time and the final cooling time. \ClimateCabinet - The ClimateCabinet demo shows the implementation of a control panel for a climatic exposure test cabinet. The player has a movable paddle to bounce the ball upward, keeping it in play.
When a brick is hit, the ball bounces away and the brick is destroyed. A ball travels across the screen, bouncing off the top and side walls of the screen.
In the game, a couple of brick rows are arranged in the upper part of the screen.
